Close to 2,500 runners participated in the Manila leg of “Run for 10,” which raised P2.5 million in sponsorships and registration fees to help build classrooms, particularly in areas affected by Typhoon Pablo.
Held at the Ayala Triangle Gardens and Makati Central Business District on January 13, the run was organized by The Entire Nation (TEN) Moves, a social-mobilization campaign raising funds for the construction of 10,000 classrooms nationwide. Ayala Foundation serves as the secretariat for TEN Moves.
Present at Run for 10 were Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Armin Luistro, AFI President Luli de Leon, international pop superstar Apl.de.Ap of Black Eyed Peas, Philippine Business for Social Progress Executive Director Rapa Lopa, media personalities Derek Ramsay and Dingdong Dantes, Coca-Cola Foundation President Cecile Alcantara, and recently appointed DepEd Undersecretary Mario Deriquito.
TEN Moves also held simultaneous running events in Bataan, Bulacan, Dipolog City, Olongapo City, Pampanga, and Zamboanga.
